I'm too tired for a complete race review from my 5k right now, BUT, I bring to you my newest find and fun giveaway... sleeve scrunchies. Check them out... Love them. I have the hardest time finding good tank tops for running, so often I am stuck with the typical technical tee. It gets H-O-T out there, especially during Texas summers. My friend, Elaine, found some softball ones at a local sports store for a run, and when I saw them, I had to seek out some... but I was hoping for something with a little pizzazz. I found these little babies on etsy.
Callie's company, Vanna Down By the River, was born when she was looking for something a little cuter to scrunch up her own sleeves for her favorite sport - Roller Derby!!! (Cool, eh?)
In her own words...
...it all started with roller derby. I'd wear t shirts to practice but would always find myself rolling up the sleeves. One of my teammates had some store bought sleeve scrunchies but they were, well they were rather blah. I took a look at them and thought "I can make those". After some practice and testing I ended up with scrunchies I was proud of. I like to make scrunchies from "alternative" prints, such as skulls and leopard, because I'm not a frilly, frou-frou person. Though I will make frilly stuff if you ask me :) I use my derby name as my business name since derby is where it all began. I got my derby name because I was doing an impression of one of Chris Farley's characters he did on SNL, Matt Foley, at a roller derby community event.
I wore these little gals today for my race... (Check me out at the start line... we were sooooo cool taking a picture of ourselves.)
They didn't annoy me, they didn't chaf, and they kept my sleeves up... and it was HUMID today, and I appreciated every extra comfort. They were awesome. I can't wait to wear them again on my 10-miler tomorrow morning. Woo-hoo!
Jealous of my super cool scrunchies??? Want your own pair? Well, I've got one pair of pink leopard print scrunchies to giveaway! Thanks Callie. (And if you don't win, just head on over to her store and buy yourself a pair, because they are uber-affordable!!!)

When I played v-ball we just used ribbons to tie our sleeves (ones that coordinated with our uniforms, of course!). I like that with these you don't have to deal with strings tickling you, lol.
These are super cute, and I want 'em, lol! And you know I'm all about the PINK right now! :D

Nice!!! Thanks for the shout-out! Those sleeve scrunchies are a must when you can't cut off the sleeves of an organization's shirt. (Mellew) =) Good find!

I actually like the hot pink leopard the best. And they'd be FABU for the 3-day! I was planning on getting the hair ties that have balls on the end and using them.
I posted on Facebook. We're FB friends, so you ought to be able to see it under my profile! :)
