Marathon Time and Marathon-Worthy Giveaway!!!

It's Wednesday before the big marathon, and I'm hopping a plane at 6am on Friday.  I haven't even thought about what I'm packing.  I haven't even made a list (unheard of for me).  I can't believe how close it is and how ill-prepared for making the actual trip I am.  As for the miles, I'm prepared.  I'm ready.  I want this race.  Bring it on, San Diego!!!

So, I had a little talk with my good friends at Mission Athletecare.  I'm sure it's no secret that I love these products.  I rave about them all the time.

From their "About Us" page:
MISSION Athletecare, the first and only line of Athlete-Engineered Skincare products, was founded in 2008 by a premier group of world-class athletes including Serena Williams, Steve Nash, David Wright, Mia Hamm, Amanda Beard, Sergio Garcia, and more.

We know that people who lead active lifestyles have different skincare needs -- before, during and after workouts. To meet these dynamic needs, the MISSION Lab Team is led by world-renowned dermatologists, skincare experts and elite athletes. Together, we have developed sophisticated formulas designed to protect, strengthen, and hydrate your skin.

In all seriousness, I've done a number of giveaways on this blog.  Some products I try out, I review, and I don't necessarily see them again.  Other products, I'm so convinced they are the best that I stick with them.  There are several Mission Athletecare products that I use on a very regular basis...  I'll just highlight my favorites:
Anti-Friction Cream.  This is something every runner should have.  (They also carry an anti-chafe balm that applies in the deoderant-like stick, but I prefer the cream.)  Let's face it, chafing is a problem.  This stuff lasts (I've never had to reapply it, and I've used it on runs up to 4 hours long).  It doesn't feel greasy, it doesn't stain clothes, and it doesn't break down in the heat.  In short, it works.

No-Sting Sunscreen Facestick and Ultra-Sweatproof Sunscreen.   Right now with the long training runs and the Texas sun bearing down, I am using this stuff up like crazy.  What's the point of running and staying fit if I'm going to kill my skin?  I normally hate sunscreen.  Let me repeat... I hate it.  I just normally feel very sticky and icky.  I love this stuff.  I never feel gross or greasy.  I'm never worried about touching anything or getting grease spots on my clothes.  And the stuff works.  I've worn it in the Texas heat for up to 4 hours in a tank top and my skin was completely protected... and despite the immense amount of nasty sweating, I never had to reapply and my eyes never stung from running sunscreen.  I'm happy to be protecting my skin.

Muscle RubLove it.  I often use this when getting those post run aches that make it hard to get comfortable and relax.  It works like a charm.

Mint Lip Balm.  I think I have a stick of this in my car, on my desk, in my purse, in my iFitness belt, and in the pouch on my handheld waterbottle.  Pretty much, I don't leave home without it.  'Nuff said.

Wild Berry Ultra-Gloss.  My new discovery.  I just got my first tube of this stuff, and I am in love.  I'm not a heavy lipcolor type girl... but I like to have just enough on my lips to keep them moisturized.  This product moisturizes, leaves a pretty gloss, and a very very very subtle tint.  It is perfect for me.  This might have a battle with the mint balm, although for during a run, I still think the balm would be my choice.

I also use the Rejuvinating Moisturizer and love it... and I use the Kid's Continuous Spray Sunscreen on my little people.  Yes, I use almost the entire array of products... and not just every once in awhile, but often.  Very often.   Seriously, love this company.  And I'm not just saying that... you can search this blog, I mention them repeatedly.  And did I point out that they support a huge slew of charities?  Yeah, they do.

So now that I'm finished raving, I'll get down to the details of the Marathon-Worthy Giveaway that I discussed with my friends at Mission Athletecare (which, by the way, are the official skincare of the Rock n Roll races).

This giveaway will have THREE winners.  Yep, in honor of the marathon distance, three people will have the chance to win $26.20 in credit to spend on products at Mission Athletecare.   You *must* be a follower of my blog in order to enter any of these three ways.  Giveaways are a fun way for me to thank my readers by sharing awesome products!

First way to win:
One random winner will be chosen from those who go "Like" Racing It Off on Facebook *and* "Like" Mission Athletecare on Facebook.  Leave me a comment that you did both.  (They have also changed their twitter to @MissionAthlete if you tweet.)

Second way to win:
Guess my marathon finish time in a comment.  The closest to the actual time wins.  Need some hints?  Read THIS POST.

Third way to win:
I want to encourage first timers to take on the challenge of a marathon.  Commit to running your first 26.2 within the next 12 months.  Tell me which race you commit to do and what date it occurs on.  I'll be checking up on you!!!  I will randomly select a winner from those who commit.

I will pick one winner from each of the three ways.  The giveaway closes for entries on Sunday, June 5th at 6:30am Pacific (since that's when the race starts).  I will announce the winners on Tuesday, June 7th.

Required mumbo-jumbo:  I was given the above products to use and review.  I was not otherwise compensated, and I was not obligated to give a positive review.  The opinions expressed are my own.

I ran my first marathon in Dec. 2010, and have since run two more, and am committed to running at least three more in the next six months. (Top of Utah in September, NYC in November and the Goofy Challenge in January). :) I am hooked!
