1. Swimming for hours without sunblock.
Hard Core or Dumb?
2. Running 6 miles at 4am (yes, EMZ, Four. Freakin. AM.) this morning when my thermostat still said this at the start:
Hardcore or Dumb?
3. Who can forget this?
Hardcore or Dumb?
4. Running AGAIN at 7:30pm when the thermostat said this: (It's blurry, but it says 107deg.)
Hardcore or Dumb?
I'm willing to cross the line to spend time running with awesome friends. This morning it was hot and stale, but I got in 6 miles with Amanda and Robin W. It was a hard run, I won't lie, but I felt great that I had gotten it done and that I'm powering through this summer (something I did not do last year).
Last night I got to catch up with Libby after her first marathon (which she completely knocked out of the park)... and I got to finally meet Kristi after plenty of time stalking one another's blogs! The irony is that like a true stalker, I had to chase her down. Despite the ridiculous temperatures, the route was shaded, there was a nice breeze, and I felt strangely good. The hoped for 2-3 miles turned into 4.5 which we finished off at a shaved ice stand where I proceeded to get cherry brain freeze for the next 30 minutes. I enjoyed hanging out with a nice group of runner-buds. Always a good time with the NTX Runners.
So what have you questioned lately - Hard Core or Dumb?

There were days in the winter when I was walking that line... but let's just go with hardcore. Awesome job. 107???? GAHHH!
i don't know how you do it. 107 Yikes!!!
hardcore or dumb....risking putting your potty training child in the car with just "big girl pants" on. DUMB...but we made it to our destination DRY! wheww!
So nice to finally meet you!
1. Dumb
2. Hardcore
3. Hardcore dumbass
4. Like I said on Facebook .... How hardcore can it be when your 9yr old nephew was out doing sprints at the track at the same time? ;-)
4. Only hardcore because I had already done my miles... so not only did I go out in that heat... I did it for "fun" miles that I didn't even need. OK, maybe *that* makes it dumb.
It is definitely a line we walk, isn't it???
put me down for dumb for tomorrow morning...along with all the other dummies in Texas!!!
I definetely crossed that line in the winter too, but I got my BQ, so it is all good. the summer is my tri season, so my running takes a back seat. Wed's attempt at stroller pushing on cinder in 100 deg heat with a thunderstorm in the distance turned into dumb pretty quick. I have a friend back in MI who is training for her first IM, and she frequently rides 80+ miles on Saturdays, starting at 3:45am to get done before her hubby needs to be at work at 9. I think that is pretty hardcore. This summer is hard. I have been doing lots of treadmill runs.
You are hardcore!! I will have to decide tomorrow if I am hardcore or dumbass after my 17 mile run in the morning!! This texas heat is killing me!!
Looks the NTX running club is a good one!! Ill have to join that one!!
I usually say it's a thin line between Dumb and Dedicated.
Take last night for example, some would say it was dumb to going running at 10:30 p.m. JUST to keep my streak going...others would say it was dedicated. For me it was a bit of both, I NEEDED the run after a long drive with the kids and a slightly stressful weekend but it also added a little stress getting back to the house with bags unpacked from the weekend. I figure it really doesn't matter the the house was a bit messy. I'll get to it later. I felt better able to deal with things after a late night run...plus it was a little cooler, emphasis on little.
Wow! Just wow! I mean during my run yesterday I thought it had to be 93 degrees. I was miserable. Turns out it was only 73 degrees. I don't know how you do it!
